Do not be in too much hurry to see your business grow or else you will find yourself taking two steps forward only to take 3 steps backward later. Instead, set simple short term goals first like getting traffic of 10 people to visit your site in 2 weeks; first sale in one month. Learn how top marketers make it to be so successful and use some of these strategies for your business. When you are just starting out, a good rule to follow is never buy traffic unless it works.
This is why the failure rate is so high in this industry. People are there for the emotions not the business. People so often get caught up in the feel good side of the industry they forget why they got started in the first place. For most people they saw an opportunity to make some extra money from home. This is not to say that there are sometimes legitimate reasons to look for a new business. Sometimes there are. The problem is that when you make the move to a new type of business you take yourself with you.
What I will do is not to send traffic to a sales page, but to an opt-in page (like the one in resource box). The reason is because I want to build a subscribers list. If I build a list, I can leverage the traffic my site gets and turn that traffic into repeat traffic. Which means I can turn 100 visitors into 300 or even 500 repeat visits, all because of the email marketing system I have.
I have seen people who currently make excellent money offline invest some of that to build a six figure income. I’ve also seen people who start with virtually nothing and over time develop a six figure income.
Dress and act professionally while working. Some people find it helpful to dress in casual business attire during their working hours. This reinforces that just because you’re working from home doesn’t make you any less of a professional. Answer the phone with your name, or business name, and keep your children off the phone during business hours. Also, spend money investing in the tools you need to do your job right. A cell phone, fax machine or even a budget computer can help turn your home office into a true workspace.
Another superb home business marketing strategy is using word of mouth. Word of mouth is the oldest form of communication and still works very well. Tell everyone you know about your home business and you will gain prospects. Plus, your friends, family and acquaintances will talk to people in their circle and before you know it, you will have many prospects. The key here is to focus on the prospects that show interest or are engaged. Do not waist your time on the rest, it will lead you nowhere.
Does the company that you’re looking at have some type of “buzz” that surrounds it? Do the products or service they offer have enough appeal to draw people to it?
Especially if you have kids in the house while you work at home, there are some distractions that are harder to control than others. Household chores, television, pets, neighbors, friends and kids don’t always stick to your schedule. Do your best to deal with these by planning ahead for them.
